Grossabünt is an extensive outdoor leisure facility in the heart of Gamprin which enthralls locals and visitors alike. The Centre is renowned for its beautifully laid-out grass-covered areas, its variety of games facilities and sports equipment.

Activities and attractions in Grossabünt

1. Natural bathing lake: The natural bathing lake is the centre-piece of the facility and in the summer provides a refreshing way of cooling off. The lake is surrounded by grass-covered which invite the visitor to enjoy the sunshine and relax. There is a separate children’s area for smaller visitors with shallow water and a playground.

2. Playgrounds: There is something for children of all ages in Grossabünt. Well equipped play areas with swings, slides, climbing frames and sand boxes entertain children for hours on end.

3. Sports facilities: For sports enthusiasts Grossabünt offers football pitches, beach volleyball and basketball courts which are available for games or training. There is also a fitness course around the lake with equipment in a number of locations where you can improve your fitness.

5. Walking and biking trails: The countryside around Grossabünt is ideal for hiking or biking. Well signposted trails lead you through the scenic landscape and offer wonderful views of the countryside. A walk along the neighbouring Rhine dyke is particularly recommended.

Grossabünt can be easily reached in about 10 minutes from the Hotel kommod in Ruggell. Alternatively you can walk or cycle there for a closer look at nature on the way.

The facility is open all year round but the bathing lake and most of the activities are naturally most popular in the summer months. Entry is free, making it an ideal and inexpensive destination for the whole family.
